INDGENOUS RESEARCH, THEORY, & METHODS


Indigenous Research, Theory, & Methods provides an introduction to core concepts in the discipline of Indigenous Studies. Through a global exploration of literature from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S. we critically examine the history of academic research with Native peoples and discussion contemporary methodological and theoretical trends in Indigenous Studies scholarship. This is an experiential learning course, in which students are given an opportunity to apply these research approaches through partnerships with Indigenous focused non-profit organizations.
